July 29th, 30th & 31st

Hi all, Well it's time for the annual Albany Quilts Downtown. If you are not familiar we hang quilts from participating quilt artists in the windows of the Albany downtown merchants for all to see.  If you haven't been to the show before please stop by you get to see a fabulous array of quilts in a variety of fabrics.

The dates for this years event are as follows:

• July 26th & 27th - Quilts should be turned into The Quilt Loft
• July 28th – Quilts are hung in the sponsor shops around town (Volunteers are always welcome!)
• July 29th – Albany Quilts Downtown officially open for viewing
• Aug 2nd & 3rd – Quilt are taken down (Again please volunteer – those quilts are hot at this time of year!)
• Aug 4th – Artists can pick up there quilts at The Quilt Loft

If you want to have your quilt displayed this year, we would love to have you participate.  The entry form can be found here.

We are in the middle of the Sew Oregon Shop Hop.  Man are we busy - the hop is so much fun.  Just pick up a passport at any participating quilt store (like The Quilt Loft ) and start hopping.  The hop runs until July 8th so you have some time to see all of your favorite shops but don't wait too long.  We have already sold out of several of our new fabrics that arrived just last Saturday.

Each participating shop is giving out a free quilt block kit (pattern and fabric) and if you visit enough shops you will be entered into the grand prise drawing (big stuff!!!)

WOW - Our New Blog!

It's been a long time comming but Dave finally got the blog working and now he has an even harder job teaching me how to use all this new stuff

So here goes -

First off, what are we doing here? There is a ton of "stuff" that goes on at the store and I hope to keep you up to date on: 

1. A glimse behind the scenes of running a quilt store
2. Bring you the newest "goings on" at The Quilt Loft
3. Show you my newest projects and anyone elses projects who wants to share
4. Pass on tips and techniques as I find them
